Teemore Shamrocks 3-10 Lisnaskea Emmetts 0-15 Teemore Shamrocks produced a barnstorming final 15 minutes as they came from six points down to clinch the MFL Division Two title with victory over Lisnaskea Emmetts at Brewster Park on Saturday evening.

Lisnaskea appeared to be in control and on their way to the win as they held a six point lead as the third quarter came to a finish but the game swung in Teemore’s favour in a 90 second spell as the Shamrocks twice found the back of the net through Nathan McAdam and Nathan Hughes and when they followed up with two points it left Teemore in pole position.

Lisnaskea did get it back to a point through an Aaron Copeland free but McAdam then plundered his second goal of the game to put the game out of reach for the Emmetts with Teemore eventually finishing up four point victors.

Lisnaskea enjoyed the greater possession in the first half of the contest and they were to open up a three point lead by the 19th minute .

Hayden Lynch knocked over the first score of the game for the Emmetts and although Paul Doherty answered with a well struck free, Lisnaskea registered the next three scores.

Aaron Copeland showed great accuracy from deadballs as he landed two frees while Kevin Smyth also converted a free to make it 0-04 to 0-01.

Teemore replied with two frees from Doherty while they also had a goal chance when Aaron McManus raced through but he pulled his shot wide of the post and it was Lisnaskea who were to edge two points in front as Copeland slotted over from play.

And the sides were to share the next four points with Oisin Murphy and Doherty on target for Teemore while Eoin McCabe and Smyth landed for Lisnaskea to leave them two points to the good at half time, 0-07 to 0-05.

Lisnaskea then took control of proceedings over the next 15 minutes as they tagged on five of the next six points to push their advantage out to six with 45 minutes on the clock.

James McBrien had the first two points of the second half, the second coming from good work by Paddy Maguire, before Teemore opened their account for the half through a McAdam point.

However, when Copeland (free), Lynch and Smyth added on points it seemed as if Lisnaskea were going to push on for the victory.

The game though was turned on its head inside 90 seconds as McAdam produced a crisp finish to the net before Hughes quickly followed up with a second Teemore goal to level up the contest.

At this point, Teemore were in the ascendancy and they made this tell as Doherty and McAdam rattled over points from play to put them two ahead.

Copeland did answer with a free but Teemore had their tails up and Doherty notched a further point before McAdam swooped for his side’s decisive third goal to make it 3-09 to 0-13.

Lisnaskea did close the gap back to a single score when Michael McCreesh and Copeland tagged on points but Teemore were not to be denied and that man McAdam fired over the last point of the game as they ran out four point winners in the end.
