A Lakeland Cycle Club team, consisting of Paul McMulkin, Chris Kelly, Kenny Boylan, Kyle Fisher and Martin McBride took part in the Tour Of Omagh last weekend.

The outstanding performance of the five man team came from Kyle Fisher who claimed second place overall.

One on the youngest competitors in the tough 3-day race, Kyle finished in the group on the first stage on Friday evening. He consolidated his position with a strong ride in the time trial on Saturday morning. It was then on stage 3 that he began to make his mark on the race by finishing second on a wet and windy 45-mile route which took in some of the highest points in Co. Tyrone. He followed this up with another second place in the fourth and final stage on Sunday morning over another tough course which included the infamous Gortin Lakes climb.

All other Lakeland riders produced great performances over the weekend, riding strongly within the group.

The club would like to thank Donnelly Brothers for providing the support car and also Lakeland Bikes, Sign Design, PIM Smart and Fuels And Lubricants.
