Teemore moved level on points with Enniskillen Gaels at the top of division two with a victory on Wednesday night and in so doing produced their most impressive performance of the season to date. The Shamrocks were to finish with 12 men and the Gaels with 14 as the intensity rose in the second half of this encounter.

At half time Teemore held a four point advantage on a scoreline of 1-03 to 0-10.  Matthew Dixon had struck for the Gaels goal but at the other end Eoin McManus, in particular, was in fine form hitting four points with a mixture from placed balls and play.

Joey Donegan and Jason McCaffrey also hit a brace as Teemore were better team in the opening 30 minutes. Eoin Beacom was perhaps the Gaels best performer at this stage and he hit a number of points to go along with Dixon’s goal with Neil McDermott also getting in on the act.

In the second half Neil McDermott for Enniskillen and Eoin McManus were sent off for two yellows with Shamrocks Ruairi Maguire suffering a similar fate not long after. Jason McCaffrey was the last player to be sent for an early bath for a straight red.

The sides shared wo points between them with Teemore shooting out into a seven point lead at one stage with Liam Martin hitting four second half points for the winners, including three accurately hit free kicks.

The Gaels rallied led by the excellent paly of Beacom to get the game back to three points but with Barry Ownes moving from midfield to the edge of the square Teemore were able to hold out for an important win.

The victory sees the Shamrocks move level on points with the Gaels at the top of the table, although they have played a game more. Belnaleck have two games in hand on Teemore and sit two points behind the top two.
