Erne Anglers Angling Club's Junior Anglers, James O'Doherty and Kieran Kelly were the toast of the club following this season's Coarse Angling successes.
James (14) and Kieran (17) both from Enniskillen have come through the Clubs junior development programme, which has been widely supported by Fermanagh District Council and Waterway's Ireland. James, a pupil at St. Joseph's College, and Kieran, a former pupil of Erne Integrated College, both took part in the Club's Summer scheme and Junior Classic coaching programmes over the past few years.
This year has been particularly successful for the Erne Anglers Juniors with four members of the club being selected to represent Ulster in the Interprovincial Championships which Ulster won by a big margin on Gaulmoylestown Lake near Mullingar.
James and Kieran were joined on the Ulster team by Jordan Hall (16) Lisnaskea High School and Billy Williams (17) from Bellanaleck.
The Erne Anglers were very proud to have both James and Kieran then selected to represent Ireland, in the Celtic Cup at Magiscroft Fishery in Scotland.
Ireland had not entered the event for a number of years; it was therefore very pleasing that the team came away with a win in the event fishing against strong Welsh and Scottish teams.
The club would again like to pay tribute to the support given by Fermanagh District Council and Waterways Ireland, which has played a huge role in the development of International Angling talent over the years.
Erne Anglers would also like to thank Tubertini Uk, The Lough's Agency and Inland Fisheries Ireland who sponsored the Ireland Team costs this year and are looking forward to hosting the Celtic Cup event in Ireland this year.
