The Erne Anglers Angling Club's outstanding year on the angling front just keeps getting better as they claimed three All Ireland titles in the space of two weeks.

The year started with six Fermanagh based club anglers being selected for the 2012 Senior World & European Championships in Spain, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

This was followed by six of its Junior anglers being selected for the Ulster team and winning the Junior Inter-provincial in Cork last month - three of the six were later selected for the Junior Ireland team.

Over the past two weeks they completed another hat-trick of outstanding angling performances. The first event was the National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland, Irish Club Championship which was fished by five man teams from all the top clubs in Ireland, on the Rosslea Lakes.

The Erne Anglers five man team led by team captain Nick Howell (Kilskeery) produced an outstanding performance, winning the two day event with a total of 18 points ahead of BSI Dublin on 27 points and Fermoy Cork on 30 points.

The team caught a total of 97lbs 6ozs of fish on the Rosslea Lakes of Killyfole, Inver, Lyons and Gavins. Three of the five man team finished in the top four anglers overall.

The NCFFI All Ireland individual championships were fished the following weekend with the junior event on the Saturday and the senior on the Sunday, and again there was great success for the club.

A quality field of 27 Juniors fished the Saturday event on Glasshouse Lake in Co Cavan and James O'Doherty (Enniskillen) of Erne Anglers AC won the event fishing both Pole and Feeder on peg 12 catching 3.280kgs of small fish. Runner up was Aaron Hutchman from the East Belfast Club with 2.830kgs, Josh Kavanagh (Cavan) was third with 2.000kgs.

The senior event the following day had a very large entry of 97 anglers from all over Ireland, who were pegged out on sections of Killykeen & Eonish lough Oughter, as well as Rockfield and Glasshouse Lakes.
