The second match in the Waterways Ireland Junior Classic took place on the River Erne at the Lakeland Forum on Saturday.

Low water conditions and a sharp overnight frost resulted in poor catches on most sections. Despite the frost the day was quite pleasant for the 24 Junior anglers fishing the second match.

Individual winner in the Senior section was James O'Doherty (Erne integrated) 2.530kgs, James was drawn on the excellent Police Jetty section and caught mainly roach on the pole at peg three.

Runner up was Jordan Hall (Southwest College) 0.860kgs, who won the section at the Forum with mainly small fish on the pole. In third place was James Howell (St Mary's Irvinestown) with four roach on the feeder for 0.410kgs to win the Derrychara section.

Winner of the junior age group was Stefan Patterson (Portora) 0.250Kgs as he won the section on the Broadmeadow. #Runner up was Darragh McKenzie (Carrick on Shannon) 0.610Kgs, which was third in the section on the Police Jetty. In third place was Adam Magiure (St Comgalls Lisnaskea) 0.400Kgs, which was fourth place in the section on the Police Jetty. The Erne Anglers Junior team dominated the team event on the day with a four point score.

The schools team event however remains very close with Coleraine Inst winning the day on 13 points closely followed by Lisnaskea High School B team and A team both on 14 points.

The team from St Mary's, Irvinestown lead the overall schools title with 25 points with four other teams within a point of the title.

The final match will take place next Saturday, with best two results to count with draw for pegs at 9.00am sharp.
