The Fermanagh Primary Schools Cross Country Championships got underway yesterday (Wednesday) at the Bawnacre with 332 runners taking part on the first day of the championships which will continue today (Thursday) and Friday.
The Fermanagh Primary Schools Cross Country Championships got underway yesterday (Wednesday) at the Bawnacre with 332 runners taking part on the first day of the championships which will continue today (Thursday) and Friday.
The action on Wednesday included the P4, P5, P6 and P7 races with pupils from Kesh PS, St. Davogs PS, Irvinestown PS and Lisbellaw PS among the winners.
In the Girls section Rebecca Ellis (Kesh PS) won the P4 race while Sophie Hern (St. Davog’s ps) came home first in the P5 competition. Scarlett Keys (Irvinestown PS) was first in the P6 Girls while Amy Lennard came out on top in the P7 race.
The Overall winners in the Girls schools competition was Kesh PS.
It was a good day for Irvinestown PS in the Boys Section.
They enjoyed wins in three of the four races with Ethan Abercrombie (P4), Craig Hughes (P6) and Brett McLean (P7) all taking first places. The P5 race was won by Jake Woods of Lisbellaw PS.
The Overall winner in the Boys Section was Lisbellaw PS.
