Sunday’s Knocks Duathlon once again proved a success with over 50 competitors taking part on the day.
The Duathlon consists of a 5km run followed by a 25km cycle and then concludes with another 5km run.
Organiser Martin Carey felt that the event went well.
“With the weather there was a bit of trepidation about how it would go but it held up fine and the day went very well,” he stated.
“It was a very competitive field with a good number of teams taking part from Fermanagh and beyond, we were pleased with how it went,” he added.
Martin stresses though that it is not just about the competition.
“We cater for those who are into extreme sports such as this but also this is about the community and it’s a day for the whole community to enjoy.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Tekoil and Pallet Movers.”
Indeed, it was the team from Pallet Movers that went on to win the team event.
In the Individual sections the first Male home was Fergal McDermott while Aoibheann Barkley secured first place in the Female competition.
There was also prizes for the first local male and female across the line.
The first local male home was Ciaran McGrory while Helen Davis was the first local female to cross the line.
