Christchurch Pairs took place at the end of the old year 2013 and into the new year 2014 with the support of 96 pairs, it was played over three nights with the final night commencing with ten pairs back. The finalists were competing for the Silver Cup plus the prizes generously sponsored by Dowlers Ltd, Lisnaskea.

In the preliminary rounds R Stubbs, Christchurch beat S Duffy, Coalisland 9 – 5; A Graham Wellington beat D Ferguson Devenish 7 – 5 and at the quarter final section, R Stubbs beat A Graham 9 – 2. In the other quarter-finals, P Cosgrove, Rosslea beat B Lynch Clanabogan 8 – 6; I Jordan Newtownbutler beat G Burke, Wellington 8 – 6; D Graham Wellington beat C Garvary Tullysaran 12 – 2.

In the semi-final was the pairing of father and son Basil and Ronnie Stubbs against the pairing of wife and husband, Sadie and Paddy Cosgrove, the outcome of this game was in favour of the Stubbs, 7 – 3. Alan Browne along with David Graham played Ian Jordan and Leslie Annon in the other semi final winning by 10 – 2.

The final was played over nine ends with R Stubbs 4 shots up after two ends played.

in the third and fourth end, D Graham picked up a single shot in each end. In the fifth and sixth end both pairs got one shot each leaving the overall score line at 5 shots to 3 shots in favour of the Stubbs.

Over the next two ends, Ronnie and Basil got two single shots leaving an uphill struggle for David and Alan who required a full house of four in the last end to tie the game but unfortunately they were only able to get one shot leaving the Stubbs to win by 7 shots to 4.

At conclusion Mr Harold Nelson the captain of the club thank the bowlers for there support, the ladies of the club for the supper each night and the sponsors Dowlers Ltd, Lisnaskea. He then asked Mrs Jean Parkinson, club secretary and Zone Convener to present the prizes and cup to the winners and the prizes to the remaining nine pairs.
