The Western Junior Zone team who will take part in the All-Ireland Junior Inter Zone Competition.

This Saturday Western Association Junior Zone commence their campaign in an effort to bring the coveted All Ireland title back to this area for the third time since the competition commenced in 1998/99 season.

The Western Juniors have, over the years, had an impressive record in this fiercely competitive competition, having not only won it outright on two occasions but for the last two years were beaten finalists, going down to this year's favourites Oriel twice.

Over the past months Western Junior zone selectors have been having various trials in different venues throughout the zone and they would like to take the opportunity to thank Kilskeery, Devenish and Gransha Bowling Clubs for the use of their halls and the for the very welcome refreshments each evening. The selectors after some very difficult decisions eventually came to a decision of their final 12 bowlers and the selection shows a good mix of experience coming from a total of seven clubs affiliated to the Western Association. The games on Saturday will be held in the Unionist Hall Enniskillen and will commence at 1pm. In this area section Western Juniors will compete against teams from South Tyrone, Mid Tyrone and Donegal in a round robin competition with one eventual winner going forward to the semi finals to be held later in the season. The selectors are appealing to all bowlers in the area to try and attend this event to encourage our young bowlers in their efforts to bring the All Ireland title back to this area.

The full Western Team is as follows:

Daniel Wilson Kilskeery (Skip) Darin Graydon, Christchurch, Stephanie Harpur Devenish and Sarah McVitty Gransha

Lisa McVitty Gransha (skip), Brandon Power Rossorry, Stephen Graham Wellington and Derek Furey Mullaghdun.
