It was another busy weekend for the Ederney boxers which saw them claim seven Tyrone and Fermanagh titles.

The boxers travelled up to Cookstown to compete in the event where there was a big entry from various clubs around the counties. The draw was made and three Ederney boxers received a walkover as there was no other boxers entered in their weight category. These were Charlie and John McDonagh and Seamus McFarland.

Paul Maguire received a semi final in the Boy 4 63kg category. Paul's opponent from the Carrickmore A.B.C was quickly dispatched off as Paul stopped him in the first round.

This was Paul's first competive fight and he will now look forward to boxing in the final on February 8 in Strabane.

Joshua Crozier was next into the ring but he was not as lucky. Josh put up a very good fight against a much more experienced opponent and was edged out on points.

Aaron Baird who has had a very successful year so far was looking to add a Tyrone and Fermanagh title to his collection. Aaron did so in style and defeated his opponent on a unanimous decision.

Brothers Rory and Cahir McCann were also due to fight, but unfortunately their opponents pulled out from the conest as they felt they were too experienced.

The lads were disappointed in this but happy to bring the title home. The club was very happy bringing home seven champions and will hope to add another one in a few weeks time.

This will give the lads an extra boost as the championships are coming thick and fast.
