The Fermanagh owned and trained, Top Twig upheld local connections' confidence when winning the Donnelly Motors Open race at Necarne on Saturday.

Trained at Derrylin by David Christie and owned by the Sporting Pointers Syndicate comprising a large group of Fermanagh based businessmen, the winner was achieving the feat of collecting the maximum six permitted races for the third successive season. The winning trainer also completed a 1-2 in the feature with the runner up Judge Deed being a stable companion of the winner.

Friday evening's feature supplied an Ulster success when Rowdy Rampage trained at Newry by Liam Lennon and partnered by Carol Ann Sloan took the Mahon's Hotel Lady Riders open race.

The Ulster Riders Championship was decided over the two days of racing with Jamie Codd gaining his second Northern Title with doubles on both sessions while current title holder and All Ireland Champion, Derek O'Connor recorded a four timer on Saturday with the Stewards aiding his tally when demoting the winner of the finale,
