Enniskillen Town 2 Enniskillen Santos 1

Enniskillen Town snatched all three points with virtually the last kick of the game as they took the derby honours from their meeting with neighbours Enniskillen Santos at the Lakeland Forum on Saturday.
A tight encounter saw Town take the lead through Frank Wallace but Santos hit back through Jason Keenan to leave it level at the break.
Rory Judge’s Town side wasted a good chance to get their noses back in front when Wallace missed from the spot but just when it appeared that the sides would have to settle for a point apiece Gary Lynch popped up with the winner to secure all three points for Town.
“It was a win that was needed as it keeps us in the mix. If we win our games in hand we would be level with Strathroy at the top although obviously you would rather have the points in the bag and it would be good to catch up in games,” said Judge.
The win leaves Town nine points adrift of leaders Strathroy with three games in hand while the defeat for Santos keeps them looking over their shoulder at the foot of the table with Joe Keenan’s side four points above the relegation zone.
It was Town who were to go on and claim the advantage as they took the lead after 16 minutes.
A short corner was only half cleared by the Santos defence and when the ball was tossed back into the box it fell to Wallace and the Town captain lashed a half volley to the back of the net from 12 yards out to give the home side the lead.
The lead though was shortlived as Santos levelled up proceedings five minutes later.
Town defender Darren McQuaid went to pass the ball back to goalkeeper Mattie McGrade but he didn’t see Santos’ Jason Keenan lurking and Keenan was able to round the goalkeeper and tap home to leave it 1-1 at the break.
Town did have a great chance to nudge back on front ten minutes into the second half when Conor Tummon was upended in the area but Wallace failed to convert from the spot as it remained while at the other end Cathal Beacom’s effort from a free kick was narrowly past the post.
Santos were reduced to ten men when they had Darren Rodgers dismissed with ten minutes to go and it was Town who were to go on and secure the win with yet another late salvo as Lynch fired home after good work by Thomas Owens.
