Lisbellaw United 6 Strule United 0 Hat-tricks from Tiernan Magee and Paul McGrath steered Lisbellaw to a comfortable win over Strule United at Drumad on Saturday.

The win keeps Lisbellaw hanging on to the shirt-tails of leaders Strathroy Harps with the Omagh outfit currently sitting eight points clear at the top of the table although Lisbellaw do have a game in hand.

At the other end of the table, the defeat for Strule has dropped them into the bottom two, two points behind both Magheraveely and Enniskillen Santos.

However, the visitors did start Saturday’s encounter on the front foot as they dominated possession during the early stages of the contest although they rarely threatened Daniel Ray’s goal.

The game though flipped decisively in the favour of Lisbellaw as in a 150 second spell they bagged three goals to take control of matters.

Paul McGrath started and finished the first goal for the home side. McGrath headed the ball out to Ryan Nelson and he carried it forward before firing a cross on to the head of McGrath who had continued his run into the box and he sent a glancing header to the corner of the net.

From the restart, Lisbellaw won the ball back and Tiarnan Magee drilled a low ball across the face of goal for McGrath to race in and slide home for number two.

And it got even worse for the away side moments later as a long ball forward from Stuart Cochrane was misread by the Strule goalkeeper, leaving Magee the simple task of rolling the ball to the empty net to make it 3-0.

This quick blast left Strule stunned and they never recovered from it as Lisbelllaw went on to bag another two goals before the interval.

Cochrane played a lovely ball out wide to Nelson and his pinpoint cross picked out Magee who volleyed home his second of the game after 35 minutes.

And right on the stroke of half time Magee completed his hat-trick as he thumped home from an Alan Veitch cross.

Lisbellaw remained in the ascendancy throughout the second half with Matthew Woods rattling the crossbar before McGrath wrapped things up by completing his hat-trick.

Lee Glass was bundled over in the box and McGrath stepped up to fire home from the spot to seal a 6-0 win for Andy Reilly’s outfit.

Next up for the ‘Law is an away game against Tummery on Saturday.
