Enniskillen Town 5 Killen Rangers 0 Enniskillen Town warmed up for this Saturday’s Mulhern Cup clash with NFC Kesh by putting five past Killen Rangers at the Lakeland Forum.

Rory Judge’s side had taken the lead through Gary Lynch but the game turned firmly in their favour following a controversial Mark Little penalty following a handball incident in the box.

And they made sure of the points in the opening minute of the second half as Little bagged his second of the game before Jordan Breen and Frank Wallace wrapped up the scoring.

Judge admitted that his side were fortunate to have been awarded a penalty but he was satisfied with the performance overall.

“The penalty was probably the key moment of the game and if I’m being honest it was a very harsh handball decision and it wasn’t one that we were shouting for. When we got our third at the start of the second half it was game over and we happy with the win. We scored when we were on top and probably the most pleasing thing was that we kept a clean-sheet,” he said.

It is the cup this week for Town and Judge knows that the Mulhern offers the best chance of glory this season although he is not over looking the challenge that Kesh will provide.

“We want to keep pushing in the league and winning as many games as we can and see where that takes us but certainly the cup is the most realistic opportunity of silverware. Last week’s win will give us confidence leading into the cup but it is a matter of taking it one game at a time and we’ll not be looking any further ahead than Saturday’s game against Kesh,” he added.

Town made a bright start to Saturday’s contest and with 15 minutes gone they took the lead.

Ryan Hanna broke down the left and pulled the ball back for Gary Lynch who tapped home to make it 1-0.

However, the home side were far from having things all their own way with Killen enjoying a good period of possession after this although Pat Cadden in the Town goal was only forced into one good stop from Timmy Crompton as Town maintained their advantage.

The turning point though arrived on the stroke of half time when Town were awarded that penalty as Scott Sproule was adjudged to have handled and Little stepped up to convert from the spot to put the home side two goals to the good at the interval.

Little then grabbed his second in the opening minute of the second half when he got on the end of a sweeping move and although he scuffed the shot it was enough to take it into the net for 3-0.

Jordan Breen then added a fourth as he raced through one-on-one against the goalkeeper and slotted home while Wallace finished things off, tucking home in a similar fashion to Breen to leave it 5-0 at the final whistle.
