Ballinamallard Utd 2 Linfield 2

Sean Noble grabbed an injury time equaliser as Ballinamallard snatched a deserved share of the spoils against Linfield at Ferney Park tonight.

That is now back to back draws for the Mallards since Harry McConkey took over the reigns from Gavin Dykes and it will further give them hope that they can climb their way off the foot of the table.

The result leaves the Mallards trailing Carrick by five points but McConkey's side have a game in hand, to be played this Monday night away to Ballymena.

The home side had the better of the chances in the first half with Stephen O'Flynn twice forcing saves out of teenage goalkeeper Alex Moore as it remained 0-0 at the break.

And the Ducks took the lead in the 58th minute as Ryan Curran got on the end of a Noble cross from the right to head home.

Noble then had an opportunity to double the home side's lead but he was denied by Moore.

Linfield though were to level things as former Mallards Mark Stafford headed home from a Niall Quinn corner, and the Blues appeared to be on their way to the win when Andy Waterworth converted from the spot after Mattie Smyth was adjudged to have handled in the box.

And it went from bad to worse for McConkey's side as substitute Josh McIlwaine was red carded for a challenge on Quinn.

However, there was to be late drama as Noble capitalised on a mistake by Garrett to fire home a valuable equaliser for Ballinamallard as they kepp alive their survival bid.
