Craig Hill shakes hands with an opponent after the game against China.
Dundee United defender Craig Hill returned to his club following a week at the Northern Ireland Milk Cup with the Northern Ireland under 19 side. Unfortunately for the Northern Ireland Elite side, they were unable to make it an historic treble at Elite level and were unable to defend their title to make it three in a row. The Northern Irish team lost 3-0 to an extremely talented United States side in the final at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday evening and the Ballinamallard teenager played in the second half.
"It was great to be involved once again at the tournament but to be honest it was a disappointing week for the team," commented Craig.
"I got on briefly in the two matches against Mexico and China and got a full 45 minutes in the second half of the final. The lads were all really disappointed not to have won the tournament again but it was another brilliant experience and the Milk Cup is a really special tournament to be a part of."
Hill now returns to Dundee United with the intention of breaking into the United first-team and adding to his single first team appearance.
"It will be my first season as a member of the first team squad and I am looking forward to getting back and hopefully getting a few more games with the first team," he said.
