Fermanagh Premier manager Paul Keenan was full of praise for his squad in what he described as a tough and tiring week for his side at the Milk Cup.

"I have always said that the opening game of the tournament always sets you up for the rest of the week and our failure to get a result against Belvedere proved costly. A lot of the bigger players in the side froze and maybe the occasion was too much for them," he said.

However, Keenan was delighted with a remarkable performance against FC Porto.

"It was a superb performance and we played a top-class Porto side. The following day I felt we were really hard done by in the match against

Londonderry and I felt we played well in that game," commented Keenan.

Keenan was especially happy with the performance of his defensive duo Gary Phair and Louis Leonard.

"The two guys at the back were fantastic and I also thought Joshua McIlwaine was superb upfront for being a year young at the tournament," he stated.

The tournament always proves to be an unforgettable experience for theFermanagh side and Keenan is hopeful that next year's squad will enjoy some success.

"There are quite a few of the side who are eligible for next year's tournament and I have always said that the quality is there in Fermanagh and that each year we are seeing a great improvement in each squad."
