It is believed that former Ballinamallard United manager Harry McConkey is a surprise contender to take over the reins of Dergview. It is thought that current boss Adrian Forbes is willing to step aside if a suitable candidate can be found to take over as manager and it would appear that McConkey is the man wanted to fill the role.
Recent speculation had linked Roy McCreadie and Johnny Speake to the post but the Impartial Reporter understands that the respected McConkey sits at the top of the list. McConkey has recently been in charge of the Northern Ireland Junior international side and as well as his time at Ballinamallard has had a spell coaching with Dungannon Swifts. McConkey has also played at the top level of Irish League football with several club.
Dergview have made a tremendous start to the season with maximum points from their opening two games of the season following victories against Larne and Ballymoney.
