Darren McQuade powers a left foot shot into the corner of the net to put Enniskillen Town 2-0 ahead during their 3-2 win over Dergview Reserves on Saturday.

Enniskillen Town moved four points clear at the top of the Mercer League following Saturday's 3-2 victory at home to Dergview Reserves.

Rory Judge's side appeared to be cruising to the win when Ryan Hanna tucked the ball into the net to make it 3-0 on the hour mark but the concession of two late goals, including a penalty from the last kick of the game, took some of the shine of the victory.

Town had missed a number of good chances to go along with the three goals they scored on the day and Judge is pleased that they are creating goal scoring opportunities.

"We could have been out of sight with the chances we created and we were never in any danger as they scored their second goal with near enough the last kick of the game. We might have missed a few chances but the important thing is that we are creating them. Obviously we would like to have taken a higher percentage of them but the more chances you create the more chance you have of scoring," said Judge.

Dergview had made the brighter start to the game as they enjoyed a good opening ten minutes with a number of probing balls testing the Town defence.

After that initial spell though Town began to take control and they had a series of chances to take the lead.

Mark Beckett had an excellent opportunity to open the scoring after being put through by Gary Beckett but he dragged his shot wide from the edge of the six yard box while Gary Beckett fired wide after a good ball over the top from Paul Crane.

Ryan Hanna then failed to capitalise after the Dergview goalkeeper messed up a clearance but with half time approaching Malcolm Crawford broke the deadlock.

A corner was only headed out to the edge of the box where Crawford was situated and he drilled his shot through a sea of bodies to the back of the net. And the home side went on to double their money five minutes into the second half through Darren McQuade.

Gary Beckett slipped a perfect ball into the path of McQuade on the left hand side and he drilled a low shot to the net from just inside the box.

A third goal arrived for the home side ten minutes later and on this occasion Hanna was to get on the scoresheet. He ran on to a flick and produced a tidy finish as Town moved into a 3-0 lead.

Further chances came and went for the Enniskillen outfit with Mark Beckett wasting a couple of opportunities while Gary Beckett had a dipping volley from the edge of the box that scraped the crossbar.

At the other end Town goalkeeper Pat Cadden pulled off a great save from a header before Dergview pulled a goal back with a rising shot going in off the underside of the crossbar.

Right at the death Dergview bagged their second of the game after Ciaran Beacom was adjudged to have fouled but this was to be the last significant action of the encounter as the final whistle was blew shortly after the restart.
