Gerry Love's Junior side secured their place in the final of the Milk Cup Bowl following a 1-0 win over Chilean outfit Union Temuco at Castlerock yesterday.

Substitute Kyle Coalter proved to be the match winner for Love's side as he fired home in the second half to set up a second meeting with Swindon Town in the final this morning (Thursday) at Broughshane (11am). Swindon defeated Tyrone in the other semi-final having previously beaten Fermanagh 3-0 in the group stages of the competition.

The first half saw two evenly matched sides in this encounter with Fermanagh more than matching their Chilean opponents.

Indeed, it was Fermanagh who had the best chance of the half when Jack Ritchie fired in a shot at goal but his effort was well saved by the Temuco goalkeeper.

In the second half Love made a couple of changes, pushing Thomas Owens into midfield, and the deserving winning goal arrived through Coalter who was a half time substitute and was only on the pitch three minutes when he struck.

Centre back Mattie Smyth, who was outstanding all week, made a great run out of defence and played the ball through to Coalter and he in turn produced a fine finish to the bottom corner for 1-0.

Fermanagh were to remain on top for the remainder of the contest and Temuco were to lose their discipline in the latter stages, having a man sent off with a couple of minutes to go.

And Fermanagh managed to see out the remainder of the game safely to secure their spot in the decider.
