Ballinamallard Reserves goal scorer Chris Crilly challenges for the ball during the 1-1 draw with Lisburn Distillery Reserves on Wednesday.

Ballinamallard Reserves 1; Lisburn Distillery Res 1

Chris Crilly struck late on to earn Ballinamallard Reserves a share of the spoils against Lisburn Distillery Reserves at Ferney Park yesterday (Wednesday).

The Mallards had fallen behind midway through the first half but having pressed hard they finally levelled up proceedings five minutes from time to move four clear at the top of the IFA Reserve League.

The home side had enjoyed the better of things in the first half but were punished for not taking their chances as the away side went in ahead at the break.

A Neil Coulter through ball put Darren Higginbotham in but his effort was saved by the Distillery goalkeeper while Higginbotham then fired another chance over the bar.

Coulter looked as if he had put the Mallards in front when he turned in the box and fired at goal but his shot was turned onto the crossbar by a Distillery defender as the visitors survived.

And it was the away side who took the lead in the middle of the half through a well struck effort from outside the box although Coulter again went close only for his goal bound header to be cleared off the line.

The second half saw Ballinamallard dominate possession and Crilly had a shot that was saved by the goalkeeper's feet before Andy Little drove narrowly wide.

However, the equaliser arrived five minutes from time as Crilly tucked the ball away following a goal mouth scramble.
