Enniskillen Town boss Rory Judge saw his side maintain their 100 percent start to the season with a 5-0 win over Fintona Swifts at the Lakeland Forum on Saturday but he has warned his players that a tougher test lies ahead this week when they face an away encounter against Killen Rangers.

Town were convincing winners on Saturday, goals from Ciaran Brough and Gary Lynch putting them 2-0 up at the break before veteran striker Gary Beckett, Adam Breen and Lynch again added further goals in the second half.

However, Judge feels they will have to raise their performance levels against Killen if they are to make it four wins out of four.

“We know that we will have to crank it up against Killen. It is a very difficult place to go to get results and we’ve had to battle hard for anything that we have got up there. Killen have also added to their squad so we know that we’re going to have to play really well if we are to beat them and go into the break with four wins on the board,” he said.

On Saturday’s game he commented: “Like our previous two games it was a potential banana skin but it was a pretty emphatic win and to have three wins from the first three games is pleasing.” Town knocked the ball about well in the early stages before they eventually took the lead after 20 minutes through Brough. A cross from the left saw Fintona goalkeeper Daire McCarroll fail in his efforts to get to the ball and Brough side footed home from 12 yards out to put the home side ahead.

And they doubled their advantage ten minutes later as Lynch netted his first of the day. He was put through one-on-one against McCarroll and drew the goalkeeper before slipping the ball inside the near post for 2-0.

Further chances came for Town but both Beckett and Lynch were denied by McCarroll who more than atoned for his earlier error while Brough fired another opportunity wide.

Fintona did have a chance to get back into the contest at the start of the second half when Town defender Darren McQuade attempted a cross field ball across his own penalty area which was intercepted. However, the big defender got back to put off the Fintona attacker who fired wide.

And with an hour gone Town increased their lead through Beckett. He was put in on the right hand side of the box and he took a touch before drilling the ball into the far corner for 3-0.

A fine through ball from McQuade set up Breen for his goal, the youngster lifting the ball over McCarroll for the home side’s fourth, and Lynch wrapped up the scoring five minutes from time with a close range finish to round off a comfortable afternoon for Town.
