Enniskillen Town Utd warmed up for their Mulhern Cup quarter-final clash against Lisnaskea Rovers with a convincing 4-1 win over Killen Rangers at the Lakeland Forum on Saturday.

Rory Judge’s side found themselves a goal down after only five minutes when veteran striker Andy Crawford put the visitors ahead but Town went on to produce one of their best performances of the season to turn the game around.

Strikes from Adam Breen and Gary Lynch had Town in front at the break and they made sure of the points through goals from Frank Wallace and Ryan Hanna in the second half.

The result keeps Town clear in the race for second place in the Mercer League, Strathroy having build up an unassailable lead at the top. And it will be the perfect boost going into the the cup clash against Rovers with Town still on course for four in a row of Mulhern Cup successes.

Saturday’s game though did not start took brightly for Judge’s outfit as they fell behind after five minutes. A cross from the right was headed back across the face of goal where Crawford was on hand to tap to the empty net.

Town though lifted their game after this early set back and ten minutes later they were back on level terms. A slick team move resulted in the ball being worked to Adam Breen on the egde of the box and he took a touch before smashing the ball into the corner.

The home side continued to dominate after this and they got their rewards five minutes before the interval when Matthew McAuley raced through on goal. The Killen goalkeeper did manage to get to the ball ahead of the Town midfielder but the ball spilled to Gary Lynch who rolled it into the net to leave it 2-1 in the home side’s favour at the break.

It was more of the same in the second half as Town controlled matters and they went on to add a third as Adam Breen flicked the ball on to Wallace who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home.

And the points were wrapped up late on when Lynch picked out Johnny Hoy and he unselfishly squared the ball for Hanna to knock home as Town ran out 4-1 victors.
