Enniskillen Town Utd secured the Lowry Corry Cup with a 4-0 win over Killen Rangers on Tuesday night at the Bawnacre, the result seeing Town secure a league and cup double at this age group.

An own goal had given Town the lead at half time and the Enniskillen side were to score a further three goals in the final 20 minutes of the contest through Lorcan McStravick, Ciaran Brough and Eoin Beacom to clinch the victory.

Enniskillen Town manager Ryan Beacom felt the scoreline slightly flattered his side but stated that their quality came through in the end as they deservedly sealed the win.

“This was a completely different Killen side to the one we faced in the league and they could have gone in ahead at half time only for our goalkeeper Gary Doherty who was outstanding on the night. They had to push on in the last 20 minutes to try and get back into the game and that left more space for us to create chances. The score was maybe harsh on Killen as they were well organised and worked hard but we have got good quality in the side and that shone through in the end. I’m delighted for the boys and it is great for them to have gone on and clinched the double,” he said.

There was little dividing the sides in the opening period although Town goalkeeper Doherty was forced into a couple of good stops to keep Killen out.

However, with 20 minutes gone, Town grabbed the lead following good work from the impressive Adam Breen.

He got down the right hand side and swung in a cross that was turned into his own net by a Killen defender.

The game remained tight well into the second half but with Town leading, Killen switched to a more attacking 4-4-2 formation in an effort to force their way back into the game. And this provided Town with more space to get their attackers into the game and during the last 20 minutes the front pair of Brough and McStravick gave Killen all sorts of problems.

McStravick made it 2-0 when he fired first time to the bottom corner from a Brough pass and captain Brough then grabbed the third, rounding two defenders and goalkeeper before slotting to the net.

And the result was put beyond doubt with five minutes to go when Eoin Beacom drilled home from a tight angle as Town rounded off a great season by getting their hands on the cup.
