Kildare 4-14 Fermanagh 0-14 Fermanagh dropped to the bottom of the Division Two table following today's 4-14 to 0-14 loss to Kildare in Newbridge.

Pete McGrath's side simply had no answer to the Lilywhite's power and pace in the contest and with three games to go, Fermanagh are firmly in a scrap at the foot of the table.

The decisive period of the game came in a 14 minute spell in the first half when the home side hit 3-06 to Fermanagh's 0-02 and they were always in control after this.

Fermanagh had started the game well as they raced into a 0-03 to 0-00 lead thanks to a converted free from Tomas Corrigan and two excellent points from play from Barry Mulrone.

It took Kildare until the ninth minute to get off the mark with a good score from Daniel Flynn but this was the start of a devastating spell with Kildare bagging three goals to move into a 3-06 to 0-05 lead by the 23rd minute.

Midfielder Tommy Moolick got the first two goals for the home team, punching home on both occasions while a quick free released Chris Healy to slot home a low drive as Kildare took a stranglehold on matters.

Fermanagh did rally as the first half came to a close and points from Sean Quigley, Mulrone, Aidan Breen, who had a goalbound effort pushed over by Mark Donnellan in the Kildare goal and Eoin Donnelly saw them close the gap back to six by the break, 3-06 to 0-09.

Fermanagh needed to make a strong start to the second half if they were going to get back into the game but instead Kildare regained their grip on things and they landed the first three points of the half before a fourth goal from Daniel Flynn put them out of sight.

Fermanagh continued to battle in the second half and Corrigan, Quigley, Jones, Mulrone and Ryan Lyons tagged on points but Kildare were always in control and they ran out comprehensive 4-14 to 0-14 winners to move into top spot in Division Two.
