Seamus Quigley was in good form for Roslea on Saturday evening.
Tempo 0-06; Roslea 0-14;
Roslea moved into second place in the table with a comfortable win over a disappointing Tempo side on Saturday evening.
The game looked set for an interesting second half with only two points separating the sides at the break but it was Roslea who controlled things in the second half, restricting Tempo to a single point as they raced to an eight point victory.
This result will be a big boost for Peter McGinnity's side as they prepare for Sunday's championship showdown with Belcoo in Brewster Park, and it also puts them in a strong position for a league semi-final spot.
For Roslea, Kevin Cosgrove and Niall Cassidy were influential at midfield while the Quigley brothers, Seamus and Sean, gave the Tempo defence plenty of problems.
This will not have been the performance that Tempo were looking for as they get ready to play Teemore in the championship. Johnny Gilmurray was there best player at full back while Aidan Breen worked hard.
The first half though saw the sides evenly matched although it was Roslea who held the sway at the interval, leading 0-07 to 0-05.
Seamus Quigley was the scorer in chief for the Shamrocks in the first half as he knocked over five points, the bulk of which came from frees. Dermot Reilly and Sean Quigley were also to fire over scores in the first half for McGinnitys side although Tempo were always within touching distance as Damian Kelly, Ryan Keenan, Daryl Keenan and Ryan Ingram banged over points.
It was Roslea though who were to boss the contest in the second half as the Tempo challenge fizzled out. The Maguires found it very difficult to breakdown a well organised Roslea team for whom Cosgrove and Cassidy were starting to take over at midfield.
The Shamrocks went on to notch a series of points in the second half with Seamus Quigley, Sean Quigley, Brian McCormack, Brendan Sherlock, Niall Cosgrove and Kevin Cosgrove all getting on the scoresheet.
In reply Tempo could only manage one point, a fine effort from Aidan Breen, and in the end they were to find themselves eight points adrift as they dropped out of the top four.
