Twins hope to leave Omagh forwards seeing double

There have not been many, if any, identical twins that have played MacRory Cup football for St. Michael's that coach Dom Corrigan can recall, but this year is different with Lee and Che Cullen set to play key roles in defence for the Enniskillen school when they take on Omagh CBS in the quarter-final of the competition next Saturday.
The Belnaleck duo have came to the fore over the last couple of seasons after focussing their efforts solely on gaelic football, playing important parts for the Fermanagh minor side last year when they produced a magnificent performance in defeating Derry in the Ulster Championship. And it is going to take a similar display if St. Michael's are to get past Omagh next week.
The brothers have shown themselves to be talented in other fields in the past having won team All Ireland medals at cross country while they have also participated in swimming, rugby and soccer but they are both now concentrating on gaelic, and in particular the MacRory Cup last eight contest against Omagh.
"We've been really enjoying playing in the MacRory Cup but we know that we need to produce our best performance if we are to get past Omagh next Saturday," said Che.
St. Michael's have already met Omagh this year when the sides contested the McCormack Cup final, a game which the Tyrone school won comfortably on that occasion. Che missed out on that game due to a hand injury and was badly missed by the Enniskillen school but they will be boosted by his return for the knockout stages.
"We had a good league campaign and the only game we lost was that final against Omagh," commented Che.
And Lee feels that if they can play to their capabilities then they can put it up to an Omagh side managed by Fermanagh senior trainer Kieran Donnelly.
"Omagh are a good team and are one of the favourites every year. We realise though the potential we have although we are also aware that the task ahead is massive. We're looking forward to it though and Brewster Park is a great stage for it," stated Lee.
Manager Corrigan feels that the twins will be two important players for the team come Saturday week.
"They are two great lads and are great workers. The only problem with them is that it is almost impossible to tell them apart so we have to resort to calling the two of them Cully," laughed Corrigan.
He added: "The boys realise that this is their toughest test yet but they have got good character and I would rather have them on my side than against me."
