Roslea sealed their place in the semi-final of the Senior Football Championship with victory over Derrylin at Brewster Park today.
The Shamrocks led by three points at half time, 0-06 to 0-03, with Sean Quigley accounting for four points although, having landed the last two points of the half through Mark Murphy and Cahir Shannon, Derrylin were still in contention at the break.
However, they were dealt a big blow in the first minute of the second half when Ruairi McGuinness punched to the net to put six in it, 1-06 to 0-03.
It took Derrylin until the midway stage of the half to add to their tally with Barry Murray converting a free but in fairness to the O'Connells they battled hard right to the end.
Roslea though never looked likely to surrender their advantage and with Sean Quigley, Seamie Quigley and Niall Cosgrove on target they ran out 1-10 to 0-06 winners
