The Lady Captain's Prize to the Men was contested on Saturday August 1 at Castle Hume Golf Club. The clear winner on the day was Barry "Woods" McCauley with a fantastic 43 points. Michael McCauley finished in second place with 38 points.
The Club Stableford on Sunday August 2 was claimed by Cormac Smyth with 40 points. Paul Stenson finished runner up with 39 points and Philip Long third with 38 points. John Colton picked up yet another Gross with 28 points.
The Lakeland Engine Spares Singles Stableford on Saturday August 8 was won by a "revved up" Steven Monteith with a fine 42 points. Neill Corrigan continued his fine form finishing second with 40 points and the ever consistent Declan O'Connell finished third with 39 points.
Stephen Craig picked up the Gross with 29 points. A highlight of the day was Martin Beatty's "Hole in One" at the 14th. The Ken Prenter Memorial was played off the blue stakes on Sunday August 9 and the winner was Brian Irvine with a superb 63 nett.
Runner up on the day with 66 nett was Peter Beckett who might have expected to win with his score on another day. Martin Beatty followed up his hole in one with a fine third place on 68 nett (BB9). Steven Monteith proved his engine was still running from Saturday picking up the Gross with a fine 72.
The Friday Nine Hole Competition continues to gather momentum and the July winner was Jeff Cruickshank. The August 7 Nine Hole Qualifier was won by David Leitch with Jim McClintock second and Brian Irvine third.
The Valley Hotel Fivemiletown Singles Stableford takes place on Wednesday August 12 and Saturday August 15 is Gerald Love's President Day. There is a Callaway Demo Day (3pm-7pm) arranged for Friday August 14.
