With a convincing two-shot victory at the Dubai World Championship on Sunday, Callaway Staff Professional Alvaro Quiros became the first player to win with Callaway's new RAZR Fit Driver, due to hit stores on February 15, 2012.

With an eagle on the final hole, the long-hitting Spaniard saved his best for when it was needed most, securing his second title of 2011 and the sixth of his European Tour career.

The 28-year-old Quiros won the European Tour's final event of the season with a spectacular tee-to-green effort that showcased his prodigious length off the tee and a red-hot putter when it had to be. He finished 19-under-par for the tournament, carding rounds of 68, 64, 70 and 67.

Quiros, who was honoured last week for being the longest driver on the European Tour for the 2011 season, switched to the new RAZR Fit driver in early November at the WGC-HSBC Champions event, and the results have been impressive.

In Dubai, just his fourth tournament with the new driver, Quiros led the field in driving distance by averaging 311 yards off the tee on his way to victory.

What's in the bag?

In addition to the RAZR Fit Driver, here is the full complement of Callaway equipment that Quiros had in his bag this week: X Fairway wood (17 degrees), RAZR Muscleback irons (3-PW), X-Forged wedges (52, 56 and 58 degrees), the Tour i(z) ball and the Odyssey ProType putter.

Proving that there is plenty more to his game than simply outdriving the competition, Quiros hit 83 percent of greens in regulation this week, good for second best in the field. "For my entire career the driver has been the most important club in my bag," Alvaro said afterwards. "Now I've got the RAZR Fit, I know I have a driver that I can trust. I am hitting this driver straighter and longer than my last one for sure."

The RAZR Fit driver features Callaway's renowned OptiFitā adjustability system allows golfers to adjust the club's face angle to three address positions: Open, Square and Closed.

OptiFit weights are featured in the sole's toe and heel positions. These are movable and can be exchanged to create a meaningful shift in the club's centre of gravity and a perceivable draw or neutral ball flight.

In addition to Quiros, RAZR Fit is also in the bags of Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Fredrik Jacobson and other tour professionals around the world.

Luke Donald, top of the world

Luke Donald, who recently experienced mixed emotions through a new addition to his family and the sad loss of his father, will no doubt cherish his number one status in leading both the European and American Order of Merits this year, something that has never been done before and probably wouldn't be repeated again. Donald's has class qualities both on and off the course and no doubt a major title will come his way shortly. His swing technique and etiquette should be an example to all aspiring young golfers, qualities that his father would always have been so proud of and rightly so.
