Well after five wins in 2013 the road to recovery is well and truly underway, and having previously finished second and third in tournaments at Pinehurst, Woods will finally resume his assault on Jack Nicklaus’s Major record with a victory in 2014.

Open Championship Royal Liverpool, July 17-20 Winner: Henrik Stenson The super Swede Henrik Stenson will continue his outstanding form from the 2013 season into 2014 and will put the icing on the cake at Hoylake, picking up his first Major championship.

Stenson came very close to getting his hands on the Claret Jug at Muirfield in 2013, when he finished second to Phil Mickelson. This year he’ll go one further and lift the title in on the North West coast of England.

USPGA Championship Valhalla, Kentucky, August 7-10 Winner: Rory McIlroy Following a torrid 2013 where a number of off-course issues led to the young Northern Irishman taking his eye of the ball, Rory will storm back into contention in 2014.

Having ended 2013 on a high by winning the Australian Open, a refocused Rory will be in contention for a number of the Majors, but will only get his hands on the famous Wanamaker Trophy once again, matching his 2012 victory at Kiawah Island.

Ryder Cup Gleneagles, September 26-28 Winners: USA I believe the USA will be victorious at Gleneagles when the two heavyweights collide to battle out for the Ryder Cup.

Having led by so far in 2012 only to lose on the final day the Americans will be determined to win back the trophy.
