The Easter holiday sunshine brought a strong field out to the fairways of Castle Hume golf course for the Cobra Puma sponsored competition.

The man enjoying the sunshine most was Martin Carney taking first place with a fine score of 41 points. In second place narrowly missing out on the count back was Keith Graham also with 41 points.In third place again with 41 points was Ryan Bell.

The gross prize was won by Danny Daly with a superb 33 points.

The mid-category prize went to Anthony (wee Fred) Fitzpatrick with 39 points courtesy of a better back nine.

The high category prize was won by Stephen Reid with 36 points. Stephen is playing some steady golf of late and will surely drop a few shots this year.

E. Agnew, P. Flanagan, K. Graham, M. Beatty, G. Flynn, S. Kealy, C. Brennan, D. Gallagher, B. Leonard, P. Duffy, M. Gilmurray, M. McCauley and G. Sharpe all got twos while John Colton went one better with a hole in one on the short par three 17th. Ulster Cup The Ulster Cup team got off to a slow start, narrowly beating their first opponents Foyle Golf Club 4 – 3. The Castle Hume lads were unlucky in a couple of matches, losing on the 18th.

The return leg is planned for Sunday, May 11. Arthur and his team have it all to do away to Foyle. Best of luck lads.
