CANCER Connect has teamed up with Lough Erne Resort to bring night golf to Fermanagh in what will be a novel charity fundraiser.

On Tuesday, March 17, starting at 7.00pm the Resort will play host to the Night Golf St. Patrick’s Day Charity Fundraiser for Cancer Connect which will see participants given a chance to beat the professional at a nearest the pin competition on the 18th hole at the Nick Faldo designed championship course.

Using especially illuminated golf balls, players will be able to track the flight of their shots and final resting place in a new format of the game that is highly popular in the United States. It is sure to be a fun night for all the family with Junior U10 and U16 categories as well as ladies and gents.

For £5 players get two chances to hit the green, selecting their best shot to count. All proceeds will go to Cancer Connect.

On Thursday last, Phil McGrenaghan of Cancer Connect, Director of Golf and Head Professional at Lough Erne Resort Lynn McCool and Andrew Phelan, General Manager at the Resort were on hand at the 18th tee to launch the event. Given that it is St. Patrick’s Day, a green fireworks display will commence at 8.30pm while the Loughside Grill will be running a menu from 6.00pm to 9.00pm with booking advised. All in all, it promises to a night with a little difference so why not take your chance to hit the green, beat the professional, win a prize and raise some money for a very worthy cause.
