The R J Mitten and Son sponsored competition was played over Saturday and Sunday in fairly good conditions as the scoring reflects.

In first place, with 41 points courtesy of (BB9), was Brian Henchcliffe. Brian used up a lot of his shots on the front nine but managed to gather a very respectable 19 points at the turn.

The back nine would see Brian play some very steady golf and put together a score of 22 points taking him into first place.

In second place, was Graham Veitch also with 41 points. Graham had a surprising double at the par three'second but with five pars and a birdie he hit the turn with 21 points.

A run of four bogeys on the back threatened to derail Graham's challenge but birdies at 14 and 16 helped him to another 20 points and a place on the podium.

In 3rd place, with 40 points was new club secretary Barry (Woods) McCauley. Barry got off to a flyer with five pars on the trot and a birdie the seventh to hit the turn with 21 points.

Barry started the back nine in the same fashion with another five pars on the trot, but an uncharacteristic double at the 15th and a bogey at the 18th proved to be McCauley's undoing, as he had to settle for 19 points and third place on this occasion.
