"The greatest wins of my career" was how Roslea road racer Andrew Brady (750 Suzuki) described his double win on the Isle of Man last week as he sensationally added the Senior Manx Grand Prix on Friday night to the Junior crown he won last Monday.

Andrew, in his third year with the Martin Bullock Manx Sport team has been concentrating heavily on the short circuit this season but decided to travel to the Isle of Man to challenge the famous TT circuit and it ws a move that paid great dividends. Of course the event was marred by the death of 20-year-old Wayne Hamilton in the Junior race last Monday which Andrew went on to win from Isle of Man rider Paul Smyth with Stephen McKnight from Dromore in third place.

The biggest race of the week is the Senior Grand Prix and this year's race proved to be a cracker with one of the closest ever finishes in the Senior Manx Grand Prix which saw Brady claim victory by just three seconds from Grant Wagstaff (599 Yamaha) after a stunning last lap battle when the gap was closing all the time.

It gave Brady a famous double and speaking immediately after the race it was obvious the adrenalin was still pumping.

"It was a tough, tough race," said Brady. "It's the first Senior I've ever done and I've won it. Happy days . . . It was damp in lots of places, but no standing water . . . but I'm glad it's over."

Brady led the race from start to finish, giving spectators a treat all around the course. He looked to be on for a fairly comfortable, although close, victory - maintaining a steady gap ahead of Wagstaff.

However on the final lap the gap had closed to only five seconds by Ramsey and at the Bungalow, Wagstaff was just 3.4 seconds behind, but Brady held on to take the win by the same margin. Sean Anderson (750 Suzuki), who was running in third place, was a retirement on the final lap, leaving Manx rider Dan Sayle to claim the third podium spot.

A more reflective Andrew was savouring the double win after returning home this week.

"It's definitely a great race to win (Senior Grand Prix) and the names on the trophy show the calibre of racer that has won this and I am just delighted. I have a few more short cirucit races this season and I am in fourth in the Pre-Injection Championship and missed a round when I was in the Isle of Man, so I would like finish well in that. Next year will be mainly short cirucit events and I would like to experience a few rounds in the Isle of Man and Anglessy and increase my experience."

But for now, Andrew is just reflecting on a famous double win on the most demanding and dangerous road race circuit in the world.
