Enniskillen Motor Club celebrated their 50th anniversary last week with Shane McGirr claiming the overall Champion driver award at the Gala dinner.

The club celebrations hosted an array of famous names from rallying through the years, with club President and sole remaining committee member from the inaugural committee Austin Frazer announcing the award winners.

Shane McGirr had a dominant season in his Toyota Starlet. The reigning Irish Forestry two wheel drive champion performed just as well on his home stages, producing one giant killing act after another on his way to the club’s top honour, and he received the Fermanagh District Council Cup from Garry Jennings.

Darren Flanagan won the Dick Smith Memorial Cup for the Overall Co-driver, while Chris Armstrong took the Fisher Perpetual Cup for the club’s best Junior Driver. The award for contribution to Enniskillen Motor Club was won by Colin Reilly of the Forestry department.
