19-year-old Josh Elliott has been snapped up by National Superstock champions Homer Racing, who will run the talented Ulsterman in this season’s series in partnership with GA Racing – whom the former IDM German Supersport competitor rode for in 2013.

Elliott had a tough season in the British Superbike Championship support series last year, but with the continued support of current team Principal Gene Adam and the experience of Homer Racing – the young Northern Irishman will hopefully get the chance to finally show his obvious talent on a motorcycle.

Elliott will test the team’s ZX10R Kawasaki at the end of March in Spain. This should give him the very best opportunity to start the season on a confident note at Brands Hatch over the Easter period.

Joint team Principal Tony Homer said of his new acquisition: “I took notice of Josh during last season and I’m very pleased to now be working with a talented young rider who I believe has huge potential.

“I will assist Josh throughout his campaign in the National Superstock 1000 championship to the best of my ability, obviously looking to try to defend the Championship we won last season.” Gene Adam of GA Racing added: “Last year operating as a new team was very demanding. It was a difficult year for us and a huge learning curve, so I’m delighted I and the team will be working with Tony in 2014. His experience should add the missing pieces to the puzzle and hopefully the GA/Homer Racing team can deliver the results that we know Josh is capable of achieving.

“I look forward to seeing Josh test the newly built Kawasaki ZX10R and would just like to thank all the sponsors for helping us get there and for their continued support.” Speaking of the deal, that will carry title sponsor branding for the Alzheimer’s Society, the youngster explained: “I am very grateful to be afforded the opportunity by a generous new sponsor, to brand the GA/Homer Racing bike in the livery of the Alzheimer’s Society.” Speaking on a personal level the 19-year-old added: “It is a charity that’s very close to my heart as both my Grandmothers suffered through difficult times, and the charity was very helpful to both.

“I hope I can be a good ambassador for this very worthwhile organisation in the British Superbike Championship paddock and help raise awareness nationwide. I’m also extremely thankful to Gene, Tony and all the sponsors for making this happen with their fantastic support.”
