Clogher Valley's new Coach Davy Black is looking to secure their place in the league as well as gain a couple of runs in the two cup competitions they are still in.
Black took over from Colin Steenson, who left by mutual agreement last week, and overseen the comprehensive 60-0 victory over Lisburn in the Towns' Cup on Saturday. He along with assistant Ally Breen will remain in the post until the end of the current campaign and he is hopeful that the side will be able to turn around their fortunes in the near future.
"We're in the quarter-finals of two cups (Towns' Cup and Junior Cup) so we'll be looking to move forward and progress in those while it is also important to secure our league status," said Black.
He added: "Ally Breen is part and parcel of the coaching and will play an important role. We have players coming back and who are available now so hopefully we can move forward. Our aim would be to finish as high up the table as we can in the league with the games we have left, and as I said it would do no harm to progress in one if not both of the cup competitions."
Last Saturday proved a comfortable day for the new coach, but this weekend they face a much stiffer test as they travel to All- Ireland Junior Cup Winners, City of Derry.
"They won the All Ireland Junior Cup last Saturday so it will be as hard as it comes. They and Armagh are setting the standards in our league so Saturday will show just how near or how far we are from them," he said.
