The senior squad of the Enniskillen Lakelanders Club was in action at the Swim Ulster Hallowe'en Qualifying Meet at Bangor at the weekend and again produced a number of medal winning and personal best performances from a five strong group over the three day meet.

The excellent and versatile Cathal Burns competed in eight events over the three days and a medal haul of one gold, five silver and a bronze was a superb return. Moreover, Cathal set new personal bests in seven out of his eight events as well as reaffirming in Division One qualifying times for 2012/13.

Natasha Love also swam in eight events and secured two silver medals and two bronze with six personal best times indicative of further progress from this dedicated young swimmer. Natasha also achieved Division Two qualifying times in all events.

Deirbhile Coll also enjoyed a great meet. Swimming in the 100m breastroke, 200m freestyle and 400IM on Friday, Deirbhile won two slivers and swam personal bests in all three events and also reinforced her Division One qualifying times.

Brothers Barry and Rory Morris, both swimming in the 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle on Sunday also put in good performances to see Barry take sliver in the backstroke. Again both achieved Irish Division Two times.

In addition to the medals and personal bests from the the Lakelanders, many of the swimmers made the qualifying times for the Ulster Open Short Course championships in Lisburn in December thereby highlighting the quality and potential within the club.

The swimmers thanked coach Chelsey Wilson for her assistance in preparing them for the gala.
