Tallaght Swim Club held their annual swimming gala on Saturday and Sunday in the Tallaght Sports Complex. This is a highly competitive gala with a high entry of swimmers from clubs throughout the country.

On Sunday morning three Fermanagh swimmers competed, Caoimhe (11 years) and Caragh Leonard (9 years) representing Sliabh Beagh Swimming Club and Sorcha Lavelle (11 years) swimming for the Lakelanders.

In the morning session 9 year old Caragh did Sliabh Beagh proud and came home with a plethora of medals, three golds and two silvers. Caragh struck gold in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley. Caragh's silver medals were in the 50m Backstroke and 100m Breaststroke proving how versatile this progressive young swimmer is.

Caoimhe Leonard, also representing Sliabh Beagh, and swimming in the 11-12 year age group was very pleased to make four new personal best times in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 100m Breaststroke and 200m Individual Medley. Sorcha Lavelle swimming for the Lakelanders is relatively new to competitive swimming but wasn't daunted by the competition and produced new times in her four events, 50m and 100m Butterfly and 100m and 200m Breaststroke.
