The aptly named Natasha Love was the star performer from the Lakelanders at the Swim Ulster Valentines Qualifying Gala that took place at Lisburn Leisureplex on Saturday and Sunday.

The 14-year-old, swimming in the 14/15 age group, won four medals and produced four personal best swims from the six events she entered.

Natasha won gold in the 100m backstroke following an excellent swim, securing a personal best in a time of 1 minute 10.43 seconds.

She followed this up with two silvers in the 100 Individual Medley 200m backstroke while a bronze in the 50m butterfly and a PB in the 100m freestyle made for a good weekend for Natasha who will hope to take this excellent form into the Ulster Age Group championships in March.

Michael O’Hare in the 15/16 age group, was also among the medals and securing personal best swims in the process.

Michael won silver in the 50m butterfly with a personal best time of 33.05 seconds and also bagged a silver in the 100m IM. PBs in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly made for a successful weekend for Michael.

Twins Molly and Annie Flynn secured two medals each in the 50m sprint events in the backstroke and breaststroke disciplines.

Molly edged the sibling rivalry with two silvers while Annie picked up two bronze. Caitlin Love a PB in the 100m butterfly in a time of I minute 30.80 seconds, just missing out on a medal with a fourth place finish. Caitlin also secured a PB in the 200m backstroke and a series of good swims.

Elsewhere, Rory Morris was in good form with three personal bests from his four swims while Rebecca Conway also recorded two personal bests and showed some improved form from the previous Qualifying Gala.

Peter Dolan produced two Pbs in the 200 Individual Medley and the 200m backstroke in the 11/12 age group and Caitlin Martin secured a PB in the 200m breaststroke in what was a good weekend for all the Lakelanders swimmers.

With the Ulster Age Group championships now looming, the swimmers will be training hard for the top championship in Ulster which will attract all the best swimmers in the province.
