<text> Louise's Slammers 56 Maxine's Magicians 40 With the original finals night rained off on the previous Wednesday night, fingers were crossed that the rains would break for long enough on Monday last to let the two finalists close out the Enniskillen Tennis Spring League.

Wishes were granted in that despite poor forecasts the heavy rains held off long enough to allow the two teams get the final underway. Unfortunately, they only made it to halfway before the skies opened and the remaining matches were declared drawn.

Both finalists were drawn from the Monday night group, representative of the strong and competitive edge to Monday night tennis at the club. The favourites were group winners Louise's Slammers, captained by Louise McGann, who could draw on strength in depth across all the four levels. They were up against Maxine's Magicians, captained by Maxine Leary who had actually come out on top when these sides met in the group stages. However, the Slammers were now at full strength.

With all four mixed tied 6-6 on the previous meeting the Magicians were hoping for something similar in tonight's final. Unfortunately, it was not to be as the Slammers came out on top in all four mixed matches. Even the powerful pairing of Reggie Ferguson and Carol McCusker, a rich source of points for the Magicians throughout the league, were unable to post a victory as they narrowly lost out to Cyril Boyd and Nadine Stewart by 7-5.

This was followed up by 8-4 wins for Ollie McShea and Michelle Kennedy and Kevin Burns and Kate McManus but it was the dominant performance of Jimmy Renfrew with captain Louise who handled the weather conditions best of all in recording a 9-3 win to leave the Slammers 32-16 ahead and out of sight at the halfway stage. It was towards the end of the mixed doubles that the forecasted downpours began in earnest leaving the competing captains with no choice but to declare the remaining matches drawn and declaring Louise Slammers the 2015 Spring League champions.
