Juniors spring into action

West of Ulster Junior Championship; The West of Ulster Junior Open Tennis Championships opened at Enniskillen Lawn Tennis Club this week in warm conditions.

Players travelled from clubs as far as Belfast, Donegal, Sligo and Armagh to compete in the championships sponsored by Pulse Fitness, Home Care Maintenance and Alex Knowles Associates. The tournament continues with finals day on Saturday, July 4.

Early results were as follows;

Under 16 boys singles; Connor Donaldson bt Scott Gilbride 6/1, 6/0; Tom McKernan(Lurgan) bt Harry Brooke 6/2, 6/2; Stephen Miller bt Robert Connor 6/2, 6/4.

Under 18 boys singles; Ross Adams(David Lloyd) bt Glen Mowat 6/4, 7/5; Adam Donaldson bt James Daly 6/0, 6/0.

Under 12 girls singles; Claire Reihill bt Cora Meade(Irvinestown) 4/6, 7/6, 6/3.
