Maguire and McGann selected for Ulster

Irvinestown Tennis Club's John Maguire and Matthew McGann of Enniskillen Tennis Club have been selected to represent Ulster at the forthcoming All Ireland Inter-Provincial Championships in Cork.

McGann has been picked for the Ulster Over 35 side while Maguire has been named in the Over 50s side for the competition which will be held at Sunday Wells Club, Cork on September 9/10.

Maguire will be entering his fourth year on the Ulster team although this is his first time in the Over 50s group, and he is looking forward to it.

"It is always a great honour to be picked for your province and and it is great to get away for the weekend. You get the opportunity to play against the best of your age group and it is always a good challenge. It is always a new experience and having moved up a grade I will have the chance to play against different players," commented John.

Maguire will go to Cork in a good vein of form having won four major Ulster titles while he also tasted successful at the local Fermanagh Championships.
