Play commenced in Irvinestown on Tuesday as the Fermanagh Veterans Tennis Championships got underway supported by Fermanagh District Council and the Bawnacre Centre.
There were a number of top displays and one of the first up to play was Enniskillen player Chris Cielpchua who overcame Henry Venzon, Butt Hall by a very convincing 6/0 6/0.
Stephen Cuthbertson, Omagh and Innis Redmond, Enniskillen had a really good match with some good long rallies and fine net play on view, Stephen eventually winning 6/3 6/4.
While Stephen was playing his match on court four his wife Mary was very unfortunate to twist her ankle while warming up against Leonie Madigan from Enniskillen and had to retire before they even started.
In the last singles match of the evening John Maguire, Irvinestown and Jimmy Renfrew, Enniskillen enjoyed a very entertaining encounter with Jimmy serving very well John had to pull out all the stops to edge it 6/4 6/4.
Play continues all week with finals day on Saturday
