At The Ardhowen this week, popular Country artist Eamon McCann performs alongside special guest Chris Logue on Friday 16th and ‘The Dirty Dancing Show’ celebrates the music of everybody’s favourite 80’s ‘chick flick’ movies on Saturday 17th October.

EAMON MCCANN AND FRIENDS Eamon McCann bought his first guitar with the money he received for winning a local talent contest and, at the age of sixteen, along with his two younger brothers, he started playing his music all around his home county of Tyrone. After some persuasion from close friends, Eamon made his first recording in 1990 – a demo album entitled “I Give You Music” – and he has been giving us music ever since!

Eamon has been one of the top Country Music attractions throughout Ireland and the UK for the last 20 years. On Friday 16th October at 8pm he will be joined on The Ardhowen stage by Chris Logue – surviving member of the world renowned Logue and McCool.

Eamon and Chris will perform many hits plus a selection from Country legends such as Johnny Cash, Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis and many more. A superb evening of fine Country Music is promised.

THE DIRTY DANCING SHOW Featuring songs and routines from one of the most popular movies of all time, ‘The Dirty Dancing Show’, on Saturday 17th October at 8pm, has now been extended to include much more. Put on your dancing shoes and have a wicked time with ‘Footloose’, ‘Fame’, ‘Flashdance’ and many more. But if Dirty Dancing is more your bag then you’ll have...The Time of Your Life! This all-singing, all-dancing show will have you out of your seat from start to finish. Performed by leading singers and dancers from London’s West End and supported by live musicians, this show brings the best in film music right to your doorstep.

NATHAN CARTER IN CONCERT The hottest act on the Irish music scene makes a welcome return to The Ardhowen following two sold out shows earlier in the year. Nathan Carter has had a tremendous year to date, with his new album ‘Where I Wanna Be’ topping the Irish Charts and numerous TV appearances, including RTE’s ‘Late Late Show’ and as a guest on ‘The Rose of Tralee’.

Nathan’s new album release follows the phenomenal success of ‘Wagon Wheel’, the title track of which has been one of the most requested songs ever on Irish radio. TWO BROTHERS – VLADIMIR AND ANTON JABLOKOV Following their hugely successful debut Irish tour Violin maestro Vladimir is once again delighted to share The Ardhowen stage with his equally gifted younger brother Anton on Friday 23rd October at 8pm. ‘Two Brothers’ celebrates popular classical music by the great composers, with Vladimir and Anton highlighting pieces from their Russian heritage, mixed with well-known favourites from the stage and screen.

The talented maestro joins forces with his brother Anton, himself a dazzling violinist with a flair for daring improvisation, which showcases their almost telepathic skills and intuition as sibling musicians. Sons of a gifted Russian violinist and conductor the brothers have been playing together for almost twenty years.

Completing the gifted trio for these concerts will be pianist Adam Kuruc, Vladimir’s longtime arranger and co-producer. Hear pieces such as, ‘If I were a Rich Man’, ‘Sunrise Sunset’, ‘Dark Is The Night’, ‘Kalinka’ and ‘Those Were The Days’ as well as well known themes from ‘Dr Zhivago’, ‘The Godfather’, ‘Scent of a Woman’ and other cinema favourites.

ROD AND A TOUCH OF TINA Enjoy the music of two of popular culture’s most iconic performers in ‘Rod And A Touch Of Tina’ on Saturday 24th October at 8pm. Direct from their sell out European tour ‘Rod And A Touch Of Tina’ perform with their live band and dancers. Dylan Cassidy has been described as “An exceptional look-like and sound-like to Rod” (New York Journalist, Gary James).

Dylan is joined by Tina Turner tribute artist Jacqui Miler. Jacqui’s natural soul voice and excellent ability to impersonate has seen her playing roles in musicals such as ‘Blues Brothers’, ‘Rock It’ and many more. The Stage newspaper gave the show 5 stars, saying “It doesn’t get any better than this.” COMING SOON Coming up The Ardhowen has two concerts featuring some of Ireland’s most established artists with Declan Nerney appearing on Thursday 29th and The Sands Family performing on Friday 30th October. A seasonal favourite, Erne Flower Arrangement Society’s annual demonstration takes place on Wednesday 4th November titled ‘No Room At The In’.
