It’s a busy end of October at Ardhowen Theatre, which this week features Eamon McCann’s Country Music show, Shakespeare’s ‘Richard III’, Smackee’s amazing ABBA show and the superb Mary Coughlan.

Caruso And The Quake

Next Thursday, November 4 at 8pm a very special and unique evening is in prospect with ‘Caruso And The Quake’ which tells the story of Caruso’s dramatic escape from the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, combining beautiful story telling with live opera from Puccini and Rossini and featuring favourites such as ‘O Sole Mio’. Enrico Caruso (1873 - 1921) was a world famous Italian opera singer at the beginning of the 20th Century. On 17th April 1906, he launched a new opera season at the San Francisco Opera House that brought the house down with his fabulous performance as Don Jose in Carmen. The next morning, the whole city collapsed in a devastating earthquake...

Tim McGarry

Tim McGarry, from the ‘Give My Head Peace’ team as well as ‘Heart And Minds’ etc turns his satirical eye on history in this solo stand up show entitled ‘Tim McGarry’s Irish History Lesson’ on Friday 5th November at 8.00pm. Tim takes a hilarious romp through 5000 years of Irish History including wars, the Famine, and conflict. He covers everything from the English invasion to Irisgate and everyone from St Patrick to Catriona Ruanne. It should be a great evening of fun.

Foster And Allen

Ireland’s favourite easy listening duo, Foster and Allen, are back with their ‘Big Night Out’ show on Saturday, November 6.

It’s a great night of music, fun and song from this million selling pair.

Guests on the show include Country Music star John Hogan and the amazing comedy virtuoso William Caulfield. The show starts at 8pm.
