Ardhowen finds cure for Summertime blues
Grainne Duffy will support Ronnie Greer on Saturday, June 9.
The recent warm and sunny weather is a welcome change and coincides with the array of shows on offer at the Ardhowen as the new Summer Programme of Events starts.
The first show to take to the stage is 'The Ronnie Greer Blues Band' on Saturday 9 June in the Gallery Bar at 9pm. This is followed by two nights of 'Cash On Delivery' presented by Borderline Players on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 June at 8pm. The programme for the rest of June is the 'Ulster Project Annual Concert 2012' on Friday 22 June at 8pm, 'Country Music Showtime With The Stars' on Saturday 23 June at 8pm, 'Class Act' on Wednesday 27 June Enniskillen Class at 5.30pm and Irvinestown Class at 8pm then 'The Knotty Pine String Band' on Saturday 30 June at 9pm. You can also view the Enniskillen Photographic Society Annual Exhibition right through until Thursday 14 June, Monday to Saturday between 11am and 4pm
July starts off with Marie Jones's hilarious new black comedy 'Fly Me To The Moon' on Wednesday 4 July at 8pm. Other shows taking place in July include 'A Wake In The West' on Thursday 26, Friday 27 and Saturday 28 July at 8pm, 'Barnbrack' on Saturday 21 July at 8pm, 'Bap Kennedy In Concert' at 9pm in the Gallery Bar and 'The Alexander Brothers' with special guest Gene Fitzpatrick on Saturday 7 July at 8pm.
The month of August shows starts off with the hilarious play 'Absurd Person Singular' on Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4 August at 8pm. The following weekend sees Holywood players present three nights of 'Don't Lose The Place' on Thursday 9, Friday 10 and Saturday 11 August at 8pm. Then you can see 'The Elvis Spectacular' on Saturday 18 August at 8pm.
August also features the 'Happy Days Enniskillen International Beckett Festival' with 'Edna O'Brien Live and in Conversation With William Crawley' on Thursday 23 August at 7.30pm then Robert Wilson directs and stars in 'Krapp's Last Tape' by Samuel Beckett on Friday 24 August (preview) at 8.30pm, Saturday 25 August at 8.30pm, Sunday 26 August at 3pm and 8.30pm and Monday 27 August at 3pm. The last weekend in August (going into the beginning of September) has three very different show taking to the stage. Firstly is 'Mick Flavin and Friends' on Thursday 30 August at 8pm, followed by '40 Years of the Sands Family In Concert' on Friday 31 August and 'Billy Boy Miskimmin's 'Mercy Lounge' on Saturday 1 September in the Gallery Bar at 9pm.
