IRVINESTOWN is the place to be for entertainment over the course of the Lady of the Lake Festival with dances and music in all the bars.

The Red Strokes will have stars in their eyes next Wednesday when they perform in the Delany suite in Mahon’s Hotel.

A tribute act to Garth Brooks the band is fronted by Joe Campbell from Beragh.

He started his tribute to Garth by appearing on ITV show ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ with Matthew Kelly back in 1999.

Joined by a group of talented musicians this seven piece band are named after one of his hit songs, ‘The Red Strokes’.

Said Joe: “It’s an exciting time for the band with Brooks hysteria sweeping the country it has put the Red Strokes band firmly on the map with people all of ages coming to see our shows! It’s been fantastic, “As a band we take pride in our show and performance and have our sights set on touring the country scene as more than a tribute band!

“We can’t wait to get to Irvinestown and play in Mahon’s Hotel during the Lady of the Lake Festival, it’s an honour.” Next Thursday meanwhile, Crystal Swing along with a host of stars including Ritchie Remo, Boxcar Brian and Aidan Quinn will take to the stage in aid of the Chernobyl Children’s Appeal.

This is always traditionally a big night in the Lady Of The Lake Festival and in aid of a worthy cause.

Tickets are priced at £10 and doors are open at 8.30pm.

One Saturday night the now famous Truckers’ Dance takes place with BBC Radio Ulster’s Hugo Duncan and Boxcar Brian, accompanied by the ever popular band Country Harmony.

Proceeds from the evening will go towards Marie Curie Cancer Care.
